Captain's Quarters' Ed Morrissey to Speak On Heritage Panel; Are Journalists and Bloggers Allies or Enemies in the New Media Order?

Captain's Quarters' Ed Morrissey will speak Friday on a panel at The Heritage Foundation discussing whether journalists and bloggers are allies or enemies, starting at 10:30 a.m. this Friday July 8th.

The event is open to the public and will be held in the Van Andel auditorium on the first floor at 214 Massachusetts Avenue, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20002. Heritage is one block east of the Hart Senate Office Building on the Senate side of Capitol Hill.

Morrissey will be joined on the panel by James Hill, Managing Editor The Washington Post Writers Group and a former editorial page leader at The Los Angeles Times, Arizona Republic and The Kansas City Star. The third member of the panel is Dan Glover, managing editor of National Journal's Technology Daily and editor of the publication's "Beltway Blogroll."

The panel is being hosted by yours truly in my capacity as Director of The Heritage Foundation's Center for Media and Public Policy. Earlier this year, the Media Center hosted a panel that featured Powerline.com's Paul Mirengoff, Wizbang's Kevin Alyward and Ratherbiased.com's Matthew Sheffield.

The "allies or enemies" panel will be webcast live by Heritage at: http://www.heritage.org/Press/Events/index.cfm. Simply click on the "Watch Live" link on the day of the event.

Bloggers who are interested in live blogging the panel should contact me at: 202-608-6155 or mark.tapscott@heritage.org
